EH&S oversees any food-related activities on university property. These include permanent retail food establishments, temporary food events, student organization events, investigation and complaints.
Any case of foodborne illness, unsanitary conditions, and malpractices related to food facilities, mobile food facilities, student club events, or public events can be reported to EH&S for further investigation.
Permits
Retail Food Facilities
Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) routinely inspects and permits all permanent food service facilities on Cal Poly Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ’s property to ensure they maintain and comply with the California Retail Food Code (CalCode) to prevent foodborne outbreaks and communicable diseases.
Temporary Food Facilities (TFF)
A Temporary Food Facility Permit is required to participate in public events at Cal Poly Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. Any student or external vendors selling or giving away food at public events on campus must apply for a Temporary Food Facility permit and obtain approval by EH&S.
