Why complete an Internship?
Make a Difference Through an Internship
SW 4411 – Internship connects classroom learning with meaningful experience in community organizations.
Social Work, Sociology, and Criminology students can apply their knowledge while supporting individuals, families, and communities.
Many organizations address issues across all three fields. Students from different majors may work together in settings focused on community violence prevention, youth services, victim advocacy, homelessness, mental health, substance use, reentry, and social justice.
Through the internship, students:- Observe professional practice in action
- Practice applying knowledge, skills, and values
- Contribute to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities
