Judicial Internship

Ever Wondered What It’s Like Inside a Courtroom?

At Cal Poly Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, students don’t just study law in textbooks, they experience it in action.

Students in the courthouse

For over twenty years, our Judicial Internship course has opened the doors of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Courthouse to students eager to explore careers in law, politics, and justice. From observing criminal and juvenile cases to witnessing jury selection, interns get a front-row seat to the judicial process. Along the way, they meet judges, attorneys, and other key figures who shape our legal system.

The internship is more than observation. It’s a chance to connect classroom knowledge with real-world practice. Interns spend two days a week at the courthouse and come together every other Friday to share insights and reflect on what they’ve seen. Plus, the course () counts toward upper-division requirements for political science majors and minors.
