Mary O'Neil
, a retired math teacher, has long believed in giving back. The first in her immediate family to attend college, she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Cal Poly Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ in 1971 and 1973. As a student, she worked in the bookstore. After graduation, she taught mathematics at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Catholic, Bishop Amat and Mt. San Antonio College. Mary was active in the Cal Poly Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Women’s Club, which supported students through scholarships. Inspired by her own experience, she established an endowed scholarship in 2020 and has funded a mathematics scholarship since 2021.
